Arts & Entertainment

No matter the season, Lisle offers plenty of entertainment opportunities for the entire family. Over the Fourth of July weekend, Lisle hosts the "Eyes to the Skies" annual celebration. Hot-air balloons float skyward during morning and evening launches, and the night sky is lit by firework displays. A carnival, cuisine from local restaurants, a craft show, activities for children and top-name entertainment round out the festival.

Throughout the summer months, the Lisle Community Band performs free concerts at Lisle Community Park. Lisle keeps its guests and residents busy in the fall with celebrations. Lisle Smile Days/Depot Days - a three-day event sponsored by the Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce, Lisle Heritage Society and Lisle Park District - stages a carnival, food and drink courts, a craft fair, art displays, sidewalk sales and musical entertainment. Depot Days pays especial tribute to our railroad heritage with historical entertainment, site tours, special exhibits and demonstrations. The Morton Arboretum has various seasonal festivals.

The Lights of Lisle Celebration is celebrated each December. Carolers provide the soundtrack to the lights, the holiday tree and luminary that set the downtown area and Lisle Station Park aglow.

The area offers a wealth of activities in addition to the festivals and special events. Theatrical events and headline entertainment are featured minutes away at the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn. A resident acting troupe performs year-round, and the theater hosts performances by musicians, comics and traveling theatrical companies.

Lisle's Benedictine University also hosts a wealth of cultural events, and is home to the Jurica Nature Museum. Lisle Library offers free cultural and educational programs throughout the year.
