Business is booming in Lisle, and companies are
continually drawn to its location in the high-tech corridor, its
continued development of office parks and corporate centers and
the area's well-trained and highly educated workforce. The pro-business stance of Lisle is well documented
and illustrated by the most aggressive use of sales tax rebate programs
in Chicagoland. Employing both a Village Manager and an Economic
Development Manager, the Village of Lisle is committed to attracting
new industry and commercial development, while preserving and revitalizing
existing business districts. The Economic Development Department
works closely with businesses to improve the local economy, broaden
the tax base and create opportunities for local residents. Major corporations have established a presence
here, constructing corporate headquarters and other major facilities.
Molex, a manufacturer of electronic components, employs 754 people.
Computer Associates employs 450 at their Lisle facility, and Lucent
Technologies, a computer firm, employs thousands at their Naperville
and Lisle locations. McCain Foods, a global processor of potatoes
and snack foods, employs 250 in Lisle, and Unilever Food Solutions
supplies food products and menu solutions including Unilever's leading
brands to major restaurant chains also employs over 250. Other major employers in Lisle include Tellabs,
Inc; Benedictine University; and Lisle Community School District
#202.
